Huge canal carp landed

ONE OF the biggest canal carp of the year has been caught by Iain Stevens with a superb mirror of 35lb 4oz from the Basingstoke Canal.
Iain tempted the specimen with an 18mm Tails Up Protavit Shellfish boilie fished over 1kg of boilies and 1kg of trout pellets.

Trent produces nine-fish barbel haul

A SHORT afternoon session on the River Trent saw Pro Logic consultant Rik Johnson bank nine barbel, topped by this 13lb 8oz specimen and another of 12lb 10oz.
The Scunthorpe-based Chapman’s Tackle employee fished groundbait feeder tactics on his upstream rod and a straight lead on his downstream rod which picked up the best fish.

Rivers: best for 50 years

EARLY findings from AT research into the state of our rivers has revealed they're the best for half a century!
The study, which will be published in next Tuesday's Angling Times, has shown fish catches are on the up and in many cases are on a 50 year high.

Rumours of illegal fish removal

REPORTS just in of a large net found by anglers on the River Nene, near Peterborough.
The waterway, blighted by illegal fish removals this year, is famous for its large carp and bream shoals.
It has also undergone a massive upturn in roach action with nets over the 30lb mark.
