AFTER checking the results from last weekend’s Sensas Challenge 2007 Final, match organiser Mark Downes has revealed that the scores were wrong and in fact Leicester Sensas, not Kamasan Starlets were the champions.
Fished on the Stainforth & Keadby Canal over two days to international rules it was originally thought that Downes’ Starlets team had triumphed over Leicester by 1.5 points but after rechecking the scores, Mark admitted that an error had been made on day one and that Leicester had in fact triumphed by that 1.5 point margin.
“I’ve already apologised to Leicester and ensured the trophies are on their way to them,” Mark said. “I came across an error from day one that basically swung the result the other way around so congratulations to Leicester Sensas and good luck to them in the French final in October.”

Retired, 65-year-old Robert, from Three Mile Cross in Berkshire, banked a personal best 8lb lump, while his 28-year-old son Mark managed one almost as big at 7lb 8oz, another pb.
The pair legered 15mm halibut pellets during an all-day session on the river at Pangbourne on the penultimate day of the river season.
They fished with 2oz running leads, 7lb Reflo Powerline hooklinks and size 8 Kamasan hooks over a mixture of trout pellets and liquidised bread.
